NICU Give Hope Project
I brought this project to the Virginia Hospital Center Foundation years ago, and I never dreamed it would truly turn out to be this amazing! I am so proud of it, and of everyone involved, and I cannot believe, that after all this hard work, it is actually done, and already touching the lives of so many!
I envisioned a gorgeous wall of hope, that would bring smiles and joy to the NICU families, and this is just so much more now. It is very near and dear to my heart! As the parent of a 30 weeker, I know first hand how scary the NICU can be! I really just wanted to relieve some of that stress for the new families entering the NICU.
The once long stark white sterile hallway is now a place for parents to find comfort, showing that the NICU staff of the Virginia Hospital Center will do everything they possibly can to get their babies thriving, so they can go on to live and grow as happy healthy children.
On Tuesday, June 19, 2012, Virginia Hospital Center Foundation dedicated Project Give Hope
in support of the Virginia Hospital Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Here are some photos from the dedication, I hope you enjoy looking through them, and can really appreciate all the work everyone put into this very special wall, and how much it will mean to each and every family passing through that NICU.
If you are in the DC area, and want to check out Amy’s website too, here’s the link, she is the awesome artist behind this gorgeous mural!
One last thanks to everyone involved, you made this idea come to life in such an amazing way!
