The Process
of working with me

Inquiry
The very first step is simple! You've looked through my site, and what I have to offer at this point, and you'd like to know more - yay! I'd love to hear from you! Just fill out my contact form with any questions or comments you have, and we'll see if we are a good fit for a working relationship! I will get back to you within 48hrs.
Book your
Start Date
To book your start date I require a signed contract and a small deposit. I offer payment plans for balances as well. I do not require payment in full for start, site launch, or deliverables.
Once I get both the contract and first invoice back, I will set you up with your start date, and we will go from there!
Your
Homework
I will set you up with detailed instructions and some homework, along with a due date. While we are waiting for your start date to come around you'll be in charge of the homework, which will include things like questionnaires, gathering your site content, and directional inspiration for your new brand and/or website. This step is exciting!
Direction
Board
As soon as your booked start date arrives, I will get started on your design! I will create a direction board, to make sure we are on the same page with the style and feel of your new brand/site, and then once that is approved by both of us we will move forward.
First
Draft
The thrilling first draft! I will send over a brand guide and/or first page of the website (depending on your package choice) and gather your feedback. We will go over any questions or changes you may have. It's important we get this step just the way you want it, the rest of the process uses this as a guide.
Design
Changes
The round of adjustments. In this step we will discuss and put into place any tweaks or changes you are wanting from stage 5 of the process. We can change colors, switch content layout, etc. Revisions are done in this step to make sure we set that perfect solid foundation for the whole project.
Finishing
Details
Once we have created the perfect look I will finish up all the branding elements and interior website pages. This step is all about completing the design creations, and getting your site and brand launch ready. We are usually in contact every day or two during this step, making sure we get everything done right.
Launch
& Celebrate!
Launch Day! Time to celebrate!!
Once we have gone through everything together, and the site is perfect, we will launch it! You have share goodies to spread the word, and then we will have a zoom where I will share my screen to walk you through the back-end of your new site. I want you to feel confident when taking control of the website.
01. WHAT PLATFORMS DO YOU DESIGN FOR?
Showit. Plain and simple. Over the years I have designed on quite a few different platforms, but Showit is simply the best. I can create a design that is SEO friendly with a lot of design freedom, and we can add just about anything you want into your website. But the best part of Showit? When I am done I will walk you through the back-end of your website and you'll have complete control over the site when we are done. You will be amazed at how user friendly it is. I use Showit for this reason most of all - you will love it afterward. *Your Showit subscription is not included in my fee, but I do have a discount code I can give you.
02. DO YOU HOST MY SITE?
That's included in your Showit subscription! They host your site for you, so it's a one stop shop!
03. WHAT ABOUT A BLOG?
I'll design your blog in Showit too! They connect your domain right to wordpress so you will blog through your domain on the wordpress platform. It's the best combination - all the perks of wordpress with the design capabilities of Showit.
04. WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT?
I love working with clients that are ready to really put their everything into their business. I will work with you one-on-one to help you set your brand + site up for success, and I truly love the entire process!
01. HOW FAR OUT ARE YOU BOOKED?
I am typically booked out about 2-3 months. I do assign a start date when initially booked, but I also get you started right away with your homework, so you can start working on your new site immediately. To provide the most seamless experience for all my clients, I serve a limited number of clients per season.
02. HOW MUCH DO I HAVE TO PAY TO BOOK?
I require a retainer and signed contract to book your start date. The amount is up to you. I offer several payment plans, so your first payment will be one month of your balance. I can do 3, 6, or 9 month payment plans (depending on your package choice) no interest of course, and we launch your site and branding no matter where you are at in your payment plan.
03. WHAT DO I NEED READY TO BOOK?
Actually, not much! Since you will have a "homework" window between booking and your start date, you will have plenty of time then to get everything ready to go on your end. So you just need a business, a deposit, and a little excitement!
01. WHAT IF I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WANT?
It's ok! A lot of my clients have some general idea at least, they just need a little help getting there. I will set you up with leading questions and guide you through the homework - I promise by the time you are done with it you'll feel confident and ready!
02. WHAT IS A DIRECTION BOARD?
I use this term to replace "moodboard" because I don't want you to feel like you have to create an exact mood for your site. I have found clients provide the most help with the least amount of pressure. So "direction" just gives you more freedom to create inspiration for me with the general direction you want to take your brand and website in, rather than exacts. I love when clients pin textures, colors, and images that give them the same feeling they want their work to portray to their potential clients.
03. WILL I HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO GET READY?
Definitely! I give you a due date for little steps along the way, so you only have to focus on one issue at a time, and you'll have plenty of time for each step. You can get it all done right away, do a little at a time when you feel inspired (my favorite method!) or even procrastinate until the pressure is on if you want, up to you!
01. CAN WE MAKE CHANGES TO YOUR INITIAL PREVIEW?
Of course! That's what the first draft and adjustment steps are for! Once I have created and sent over the first draft I welcome your feedback, and will make changes accordingly. I will not make changes forever, so it's important you give me all your feedback in this step of the process, so we can get it right and move forward.
02. HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO DESIGN MY BRAND?
I run my branding process on a 5 week timeline. Of course you will see content from me and provide feedback during those 5 weeks, but from start to finish it takes about that long. I work best with time in between actively working, to really put purposeful thought into the steps I am working on, and I come back to the project very often throughout that timeline. I have found over the years that 5 weeks is about perfect to provide my very best to each client.
03. HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO DESIGN MY WEBSITE?
My web design process runs along an 8 week timeline. Similar to branding, for all the same reasons. I work best with time in between actively working, to really put purposeful thought into the steps I am working on, and I come back to the project very often throughout that timeline. I have found over the years that 8 weeks is about perfect to provide my very best to each client. If you are booking both brand + website I take a limited number of clients at that time so I can do both projects concurrently, so your entire project timeline is 8 weeks.
01. WHEN WILL WE LAUNCH?
Timewise? About 8 weeks after your site start date. However, not until we are both ready is the real answer, that is typically around 8 weeks. If you have a deadline or a special project or event you want the site and brand to be ready for, we can work together to meet that deadline.
02. DO YOU LAUNCH THE SITE? OR HOW DOES THAT WORK?
I will get it live for you! And before we do that we will set a "live" date together so you can prepare, get your audience excited too, and we will take time together to go over the back-end of the site as well so when we launch it you will feel confident in your ability to make updates as needed.
03. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE ARE DONE?
You rock your business! My hope for when we are done is that you will feel completely ready to step into your new brand and site, and run with it! I strive to set you up for success! I will have walked you through the back-end of your website so you know how to update everything as needed, but guess what? I am always here!
